I was so happy to see these pictures posted of Peace Lutheran Church. It was actually in the town of Laporte, Sask. My Great-Grandparents, Grandparents and Mother all attended this Church. My Mother was confirmed in this Church in 1935. My Great-Grandparents, and Grandfather were buried in the Cemetery attached to this Church. As this Church actually originated in 1912 (but not officially built until 1925), I have a plate commemorating the 60th Anniversary of this Church from 1912 – 1972. It has a picture of the Church and the commorative dates and Laporte, Sask. on it. This plate belonged to my Mother. I have never seen this Church other than on the plate, so thank you so much for the photographs. Sylvia
Sylvia, I am so glad you came across this post. It’s certainly a beautiful church, and I hope that one day you’ll visit the Deep South here in Saskatchewan and see it for yourself. Thank you for this!
